Of life and death

My dearest father, Dato' Mohd Shamsuddin Mohd Noor, passed on on the 9th of July 2011, from complications of stroke. For four years, I had prepared myself for this moment, but when it finally came, I still broke down, shattered to pieces. I miss him, his laughter, his teasing, his generosity.. Never again will I ever hear him call my name...

For weeks before his death, I stayed loyal by his bed side, being with him during all my free time. Today, is the 5th day that I've camped out at Pantai Medical Centre, little baby Ariana is down with pneumonia, and all she wants is her Mama. Looks like my life lately involves taking care of the people I love, but it's ok, it gives me an opportunity to bond with them closer and to tell them just how much they mean to me.

So have you told the person you love how much they mean to you? Do it today, right now, as you never kow if you have a chance to tell them, as tomorrow may be to late.

To my dearest Hani Ariana, please get well soon, Mama loves you so much, you mean the world to me..

A princess, Our Queen.

Oh gosh, it's been nearly a year that I haven't updated this blog. Dinosaur years!

A lot has happened, let's just summarise it quickly shall we?

End of July last year, my two long time girlfriends and I, Farah and Niko had our girly trip to Bandung which saw us leaving behing 3 husbands and 6 kids. Yeps, between us, we have 2 kids each (then) and the trip was fabulous, eventho short. We've been friends since forever, being in the same school since primary and then in secondary, so naturally, it was a strong bond of sisterhood that kept us all together. Laughter flowed freely and at the end of it we promised we had to do it again, just us girls.

Came August, whaddya know.. I fell pregnant for the 4th time. I was surprised, and so was everyone else, and before you know it, 9 months had passed and on the 5th of May 2010, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 3.44kg whom I named Ami Hani Ariana.

I had a bad pregnancy, was throwing up non stop for the first 3 months. By the end of my pregnancy, I developed hypertension and had horrible swelling in my feet that I was on bed rest for nearly a month. Hady and Hariz had contracted the dreaded H1N1 fever and I was quarantined at my Mum's till they got better.

So much drama just to carry one princess ei?

I had a relatively "short" labour, as I was induced, thinks the horrid labour pains lasted 1 whole hour to which my husband can not stop telling everyone how I developed super strong powers and managed to twist his hands which are still painful till now.

Well hon, your daughter was sunny side up, and lo and behold, I took no drugs (yes NO epidural whatsoever) to give birth to her, so it's short of amazing that I didn't actually "break" your hands yeah? :) Most of my friends were surprised that I didn't take the happy drug, in total truth, I didn't even think about it, never asked for it, and neither did the nurses suggest that I take it, but yes, it was a very very very painful experience but I survived, so it's ok I suppose?

Now that I'm stuck at my Mum's house for my confinement period, I smile thinking back of the things I managed to do before the birth of Ariana.. I managed to sneak in my annual trip with Doni, Najwa and Andrew to LGK, which was also fab, as usual, it was the beach beach beach and nothing else!

I also managed to pass one of my papers for my ACCA whilst being nauseas + taking care of the kids as Ami was away in NZ attending his sister's graduation (thought I deserved a pat on the back for that)..

Went on many many many hunting trips, the last of which was my company's annual treasure hunt which we got second place, quite challenging for me as I could already hardly walk by then, it was only Ami and I and the kids, but we managed in the end.

Hady is now in Primary 1, my kid is in school already?? And I'm having a tough time making him revise his work. As Ami said, not surprised, he definitely takes after me, er, heh?

I'm still trying to adjust to my new schedule, handling 3 kids with no maid. I think I can manage, albeit seeing it will be a big roller coster ride for me. To my kids Hady, Hariz and Ariana, Mama loves you all with all my heart, nothing means more to me than having u three in my life.

A brother's love

Hariz has been admitted to PMC for the past couple of nights due to his asthma, the poor thing. This morning Hady came to visit his little brother and this scene caught my eye.. Hady holding on to Hariz's hand and telling Hariz not to be scared and that he'll be there for Hariz always. He's grown to be such a pleasant boy, my Hady, Mama's so proud of you..

I keep myself busy busy busy

What a weekend!

Started off with my morning swim and some breakfast at the FAM Char Kuey Teow with Muz and the clan followed by the PJ Karnival Blogger's Hunt @ Jaya 33. Didn't have any expectations, as all the master hunters were there, it was just another hunt to practise on for me. So there we were, me, Ami, Kroll and Rizal, doing a walk hunt in one and a half hours. Now, on a normal day, I would have suffered through the questions, but on Saturday, our thinking caps worked! And to near perfection! We had only one mistake (darn!) and itu pun, so rugi, we saw the answer but were not convinced that it could be the answer only to find out later that it was and cost us the championship! We lost by 1 point! We didn't fight long enough as a team! Arghhhh!!! It's not every day that I get to see my name way up there in Mike Pang's Blog so it certainly felt good that we were announced the runner's up for the hunt!

Whilst waiting for the results, Ami and I took Che Yu (Ami's younger sister) and the two boys out for some Nasi Padang in Kelana Jaya with some Char Kui for desserts, Shazz, the Char Kui I eat on your behalf k? He he he he he..

Come Sunday morning and it was Father's day! Hariz hurriedly came into the room asking me to find his school bag coz he had made a gift for his Papa and wanted so eagerly to give it to him. Happy Father's Day Papa, I hope you like all the gifts that you got this year, I think you do, since you can't seem to put down the iPod at all! Ha ha ha.. Ami and I had a mini celebration @ our neighbourhood Kopitiam, thereafter he sent me to Gardens for me to join my other friends for a photoshop workshop whilst he went to work.

Today's photoshop class was conducted by Wazari Wazir. I've been admiring his work for quite some time, and we were lucky enough to be able to steal a few hours of his busy schedule to help us learn the art of photoshop. There were 5 of us today, Kamal, Aida, Razzak and Fendi including me, though Fendi was more assistant Sifu rather than a student like us.. He he he..

And gosh, did we learn! WW showed us how he processed his work and we took some time to actually catch up with him, but it was amazing! His patience with us (you need A LOT of patience with us!) was great and Fendi helped out wherever he could. To Kamal, Aida and Razzak, practise ptactise practise, 3 hours to do black and white Kamal? He he he.. Tadi depan Wazari, 5 minit dah siap, balik terus semua lupa cam mana nak buat! Ha ha ha..

Anyways, after the class, we had lunch at Madam Kwan's and thereafter Aida and I did what every girls like :) Window shopping yeay! I've suddenly become such a girlie falling in love with one handbag after another and not mentioning shoes, oh shoes (I can imagine the horror on Ami's face when he reads this!), so Zeaty and I have made a date for some 'light' shopping tom evening + a gossip session to kill time, get ready girl!

To finish it all off, here's me wishing one of my oldest friends, Ms Sharifah Farah Syed Abdullah, a happy 32nd birthday today, the 22nd of June 2009, may all your dreams come true old friend! We'll celebrate our birthday's together when we are in Bandung nanti ok Sayang?

That's about it, have a great week ahead everyone!

Flat out!

We ran into a flat tyre this morning, tsk tsk.. So running a bit late for work and school for the kids, but it's good stuff for the kids, they get to see how it's done, they're pretty excited asking lots of questions. Go Papa Go!
